Welcome to the homepage of the Karl-May-Gesellschaft! We are a 1300-strong scholarly society founded in 1969 and dedicated to the life and works of Karl May (1842–1912), one of Germany’s most influential writers. Our resources are in German but some materials in other languages and translations of selected works are available on the international page of our site www.karl-may-lebt.de.
